Swimming & Diving at County
As the swim team gets in their starting position and the diving team sits waiting in anticipation for their turn to show their best dive.
The Greenwood swim and dive team prepare for what is to be one of many tough competitions this year.
“The county meet is definitely a big deal and I am really excited for this year and really want to end my career with a win at county,” senior Grant Rolland’s said.
The Johnson County meet will consist of Center Grove, Indian Creek, Greenwood, Franklin, Whiteland, and Edinburgh.
“Our biggest rivals in county would have to center grove and franklin because they are the teams that beat us the most and we are tired of losing to them,” senior Samantha Loudermilk said.
The Woodmen will have a lot of experience with most of the teams at county. Competing at Indian Creek for a tri meet with Whiteland and Indian Creek.
“I believe we have a good chance at a possible top three finish with franklin and center grove in the top two spots,” senior Patrick Kear said.
The swim and dive team have many seniors who are excited to hopefully pull a top three finish and hopefully end their career on a good note.
“This year is really important to me because it’s my last year and I wanna have a good season in hopes of getting noticed and furthering my career in college,” senior Samantha Loudermilk said.
The county meet will take place tomorrow at 9 am.
“This is a big meet for me and I really want to have a good meet in hopes of earning all-county,” senior Emily Bonser said.
The swim and dive team have been preparing and working out all off season for county, conference, and sectional.
“The kids are working hard and are doing exactly what they are told and doing it to the best of their ability. I have faith that we will have a lot of county champions and if not a lot of top finishers,” Coach Hockersmith said.
