Logic releases album for everybody

Following his second album, The Incredible True Story, Maryland native, Logic pursues a more ambitious take on his third studio album, Everybody.

Sir Bryson Hall, a.k.a Logic, hailing from Gaithersburg, Maryland, is one of the most overlooked hip hop artists out right now. Logic’s message in everything is Peace, Love, and Positivity. Logic has preached this message ever since he made his first million, because he was once the kid from the Section 8 community. Logic, is known for his self-conscious rapping style, stressing to his fans to be themselves in everything they do regardless of sexual orientation, race, creed, color, etc. Logic himself is biracial, and he feels that most critics will disregard him because of the color of his skin.

Everybody, is a concept album, where a black man named Atom dies in a car crash, and then meets God, voiced by Neil de Grasse Tyson, the astrophysicist. God informs Atom that he is dead, but assures him that he will be reincarnated in the form of another human being. God goes on to tell Atom, that he will continue to reincarnate Atom until he has lived the life of every single human being ever to live. This concept of living in another’s shoes is creative and intriguing, and the songs themselves are supposed to be from the perspectives of others.

Logic stated in a recent interview, that his inspiration from the album came from him tackling his own everyday struggles with life, but instead of talking about himself, he wanted to rap through someone else, figuratively speaking. In his songs, he grapples with issues like depression, anxiety, race, religion, and politics. In today’s day an age of hip hop an artist is merely here to make hit singles, straying from creating a whole body of work that each song connects with one and another. Logic is one of the few artists who are trying to keep the idea of an album, and its concept alive. The album went number one on Billboard this past week, selling nearly 250,000 copies in its debut. Logic’s, Everybody Tour, begins this summer and will be in Indianapolis, August 19 at the White River Lawn.
